The chalk backbone at the west end of the Island creates thin, free-draining soil. Tennyson Down rises directly from the Bay, exposing trees and hedges to strong westerly winds from the Channel. These conditions can produce uneven crowns and increase the risk of winter failure in leaning or heavily loaded limbs. We reduce wind loading in suitable trees, thin crowns and restore hedges to an appropriate profile. Every tree cut follows BS 3998:2010.

Possibly. The Bay is a conservation area, so many trees there are protected and the council needs six weeks' written notice before work, in addition to any Tree Preservation Order requirements. We check what applies and manage the notice for you.
